Mandalay is the country's second largest city and the last royal capital of Burma. It is considered the centre of Burmese culture, is home to numerous monasteries and more than 700 pagodas and is also known as the 'cycling city' due to the preference of many of its citizens to travel by bike.
Also known as The Elephant River, the Ayeyarwady River flows from the snow-capped Himalayas through myanmar hotels and into the Andaman Sea. A mighty river that abounds with legends and folklore, it is the country's largest river and most important commercial waterway.
